Mental Health Awareness 2083
July 9, 2026
The National Solution and Research Centre (NSRC) conducted Teacher Training Sessions on Suicide Prevention and Mental Wellbeing at Shree Mahendra Vidya Bodh Netralalrammani Secondary School and Shree Sarwajanik Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Arghakhanchi.
The training aimed to strengthen teachers’ understanding of students’ emotional and psychological needs and enhance their ability to identify signs of emotional distress and potential suicide risk. The sessions also emphasized the importance of responding to students with empathy, sensitivity, and appropriate care.
Teachers play a vital role in promoting students’ mental wellbeing and creating safe and supportive school environments. Through the training, participants were encouraged to recognize changes in students’ behaviour and emotional wellbeing, provide appropriate initial support, and understand the importance of timely referral and professional help when needed.
The sessions highlighted that schools can play an important role in suicide prevention by fostering an environment where students feel heard, valued, respected, and comfortable seeking support. Strengthening teachers’ knowledge and practical skills is an essential step toward early identification of distress, supportive intervention, and the development of healthier school communities.
NSRC sincerely appreciates both schools for their warm hospitality, active participation, and commitment to prioritizing the mental health and wellbeing of their students.
