July 22, 2026

On 22 July 2026, the National Solution and Research Centre (NSRC), in collaboration with स्वतन्त्र विद्यार्थी युनियन (स्ववियु), बानेश्वर बहुमुखी क्याम्पस, successfully conducted a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and Suicide Prevention Awareness Program at Baneshwor Multiple Campus. The program brought together nearly 200 students with a shared purpose—to understand mental health more openly, recognize when someone may be going through a difficult time, and learn how to offer support when it matters most.

The session focused on helping students recognize warning signs of emotional crisis and understand how they can respond with care and appropriate support. Rather than treating mental health as something that should remain unspoken, the program created an environment where students could engage with the topic openly and comfortably. The discussion emphasized that noticing a change in someone’s behaviour, listening without judgment, and encouraging them to seek appropriate help can be important steps when someone is struggling.

The program also reinforced the idea that suicide prevention is not the responsibility of one person or one profession alone. Building a supportive community begins with awareness, empathy, and the willingness to notice when someone may need help. By equipping students with greater understanding and encouraging compassionate responses, the session aimed to strengthen a culture where individuals feel safer reaching out and seeking support during difficult moments.

NSRC extends its sincere gratitude to Baneshwor Multiple Campus and स्वतन्त्र विद्यार्थी युनियन (स्ववियु) for their valuable partnership and collaboration in making the program possible. We are equally grateful to all the students who participated with openness, curiosity, and sincerity. NSRC remains committed to creating and supporting spaces where conversations around mental health are approached with openness, honesty, empathy, and care—because sometimes, simply knowing how to listen and respond can make a meaningful difference.
