Emotional Regulation & Suicide Prevention Program

May 23, 2026

NSRC successfully conducted an Emotional Regulation and Suicide Prevention Program at Sahayogi Madhyamik Bidhyalaya, Gokarneshwor on 23rd of May, with the active participation of 55+ students. The program was designed to create awareness about emotional wellbeing, mental health challenges, and the importance of seeking support during difficult times.

The session mainly focused on understanding the emotional aspects of human life — especially emotions such as fear, anger, sadness, loneliness, and hopelessness and how unmanaged emotions can deeply affect mental health and sometimes lead individuals toward suicidal thoughts or self-harm behaviors. Through interactive discussions, activities, and open conversations, students were encouraged to recognize their emotions, express their feelings in healthy ways, and understand that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

The program emphasized the importance of building emotional awareness and self-understanding among students while helping them learn healthy coping strategies for stress and emotional challenges. It also highlighted the value of communication, emotional support systems, and early awareness regarding suicide prevention. Through open discussions and interactive engagement, the session aimed to create a safe and supportive environment where young people feel heard, valued, and encouraged to express their emotions without fear or judgment.

As part of NSRC’s ongoing commitment to mental health advocacy and community wellbeing, this initiative aimed to reduce stigma surrounding mental health conversations and empower students with knowledge, emotional resilience, and hope.

NSRC extends heartfelt gratitude to the administration, teachers, and students of Sahayogi Madhyamik Bidhyalaya for their warm participation and support in making the program meaningful and impactful.
