Mental Health Awareness Beyond Borders
Feb. 27, 2026
A call reached NSRC from miles away — from Bangladesh. At first, there was a quiet sense of hesitation; the distance was great, the setting unfamiliar, and the responsibility deeply meaningful. Yet one message stood clear: there was a growing need to support the mental wellbeing of students and young individuals through awareness and open conversation.
With humility and purpose, NSRC stepped forward to conduct Mental Health Awareness Programs at Christo Darshan Seminary and at a Missionary School run by the Sisters of the Immaculate (PIME Sisters). The sessions were led by Mental Health Social Worker Deena Magar alongsideNSRC team, focusing on emotional wellbeing, understanding mental health challenges, stress management, and encouraging supportive and compassionate discussions among 25+ students and educators.
The program placed special emphasis on empowering students by helping them recognize emotions, seek support when needed, and build resilience in their academic and personal lives. Female teachers and school staff were also encouraged to strengthen supportive learning environments for children and adolescents.
What began with uncertainty soon became a journey of connection, learning, and shared purpose — reminding us that mental health awareness can cross borders, unite communities, and inspire hope among young minds everywhere.
