Mental Health Initiative: Dhumbarahi LION Old Age Home
Oct. 17, 2025
The 16th session under the “100 Mental Health Program Initiative” was successfully conducted
at Dhumbarahi Lion Old Age Home, Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu on 31st of Ashoj 2082, bringing
together senior citizens for a meaningful and compassionate engagement. The session focused on
creating a warm and supportive environment where participants could openly share their
thoughts, life stories, and personal experiences. Through one-on-one interactions, the program
aimed to strengthen emotional connection, trust, and psychological wellbeing among elderly
individuals.
During the session, facilitators engaged the residents in meaningful conversations designed to
build rapport, encourage self-expression, and understand their perspectives on emotional
wellbeing and life satisfaction. Alongside these interactions, light and interactive activities were
conducted to promote relaxation, joy, and a sense of belonging. These activities helped create a
positive atmosphere that encouraged participation and strengthened interpersonal connections
among the residents.
This initiative was conducted in collaboration with Bright Mind Education Hub, Street to
HOME, and Easy Learning, reflecting a shared commitment to mental health awareness and
community wellbeing. The program continues to emphasize the importance of safe spaces where
individuals, especially senior citizens, can feel heard, valued, and supported. NSRC extends
heartfelt gratitude to all collaborators and supporters who contribute to building a more
compassionate, mentally healthy, and connected society.
