All Nepal Sanitation Program

March 3, 2024

The All-Nepal Sanitation Program was organized in collaboration with the District Coordination Unit and private and governmental schools by highlighting the theme "Starts from within" in honor of World Wildlife Day. This week-long initiative aimed to foster environmental sustainability and wildlife conservation by engaging approximately 8,250 students from 165 schools across Nepal. The program featured virtual meetings and on-site activities where younger students focused on cleaning their homes and school premises, while older students undertook the task of sanitizing their school premises and nearby areas. The core message was that individual actions lead to collective impact, empowering students to contribute to a cleaner environment and support wildlife conservation.

The importance of this program lay in its ability to instill a sense of personal responsibility and demonstrate that small, individual actions can lead to significant environmental improvements. By focusing on cleanliness and hygiene at the personal and community levels, students learned how their efforts contribute to broader goals of environmental sustainability and wildlife protection. This initiative underscored the power of collective action driven by individual responsibility, ultimately showing that local efforts can lead to substantial, positive changes for the environment and wildlife.
