Dec. 24, 2024

The "Mental Health Well-being" seminar, conducted at Srijana Secondary School for Grade 9 and 10 students on Poush 9, 2081, was a significant initiative focused on enhancing students’ understanding of mental health and providing them with practical strategies for managing stress. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental well-being, highlighting the difference between mental fitness and mental illness. It emphasized the need for early recognition of mental health issues and encouraged students to prioritize self-care in their daily routines.

The session introduced a range of effective stress management techniques, such as mindfulness practices, time management skills, and relaxation exercises, all designed to help students cope with academic pressures and personal challenges. In addition to these practical tools, the seminar included interactive activities, including butterfly hug therapy, which provided students with hands-on techniques for emotional support and stress relief. These activities offered the students the opportunity to practice coping mechanisms in a supportive environment, allowing them to better manage their emotions.

With a total of 149 students attending, the workshop's approach combined both theoretical learning and practical application, ensuring that students not only understood the importance of mental well-being but also gained actionable skills to improve their stress management. This well-rounded approach helped foster a positive and proactive mindset toward mental health, encouraging students to seek help when needed and to take steps to maintain their emotional and mental fitness.

The success of the seminar was evident through the high engagement levels and the positive feedback from students, who appreciated the relatable content and the practical exercises. Overall, the seminar successfully equipped students with the knowledge and skills to better navigate the stresses of school life and fostered a more supportive and informed school community.
