Mental Health Awareness-one day seminar

The National Solution and Research Centre recently conducted a series of one-day mental health awareness seminars across six colleges in Kathmandu. The sessions aimed to educate over 360 students about mental health issues and effective coping strategies. Held at Orchid International College, Triton International College, Texas International College, Oxford Secondary School, Adharsheela College, and Kathmandu Model College, the seminars featured a mix of interactive presentations, engaging activities, and thematic student presentations. Additionally, students participated in a storytelling session to share personal experiences and received one-on-one support through phone consultations for those needing further assistance.

The seminars successfully met their objectives by raising awareness about mental health, educating students on coping mechanisms, and assessing their mental states. Participants benefited from comprehensive presentations, interactive games, and thematic discussions, which facilitated a deeper understanding of mental health issues. The incorporation of storytelling helped reduce stigma and foster empathy, while personalized support ensured tailored guidance for those in need. Overall, the program effectively increased knowledge and engagement, contributing to a greater awareness of mental health among students.
